A cat's diet is made up of an array of foods. However, cats are carnivores. Therefore their diets primarily consist of animal-based protients, or meat. The amio acid taurine is found in meat, which is very important in a cat's diet. Without taurine in their systems, cats will slowly go blind.

A domesticated cat often hunts on its own, depsite what it might be fed at home by its owner. These cats often prey on smaller creaters, such as:

  • Moles
  • Lizards
  • Mice
  • Birds
  • Fish
  • Snakes
  • and many other small animals...

However, cats do enjoy cat food provided by their owners. They just prefer protien based foods over plant based foods, such as cat food. Whatever your cat decides to eat, it must be provided plenty of water. Cats don't have much of a drive for water, so it's important that it is provided and always available.

Despite a cat's avoidance of plant foods, it will feed on leaves or grass from time to time. This takes place when the cat's stomache is upset or bothered by something. The plants allow for regurgitation, and relief.
